Belesta XPG (Extreme Pressure Grease)

Belesta XPG is a lithium complex high temperature grease which provides outstanding load-carrying capability together with superior resistance to oxidation and water wash-out.

Belesta XPG is unlike conventional greases in that its polar attraction to a metal surface ensures that when it is applied it stays put. As a result, daily greasing is a thing of the past, and the high load carrying capability and temperature resistance of the material ensure that effective lubrication is provided, even in the harshest of environments.

If any of the following apply to your organisation, Belesta XPG could provide the answer:

Features

  • A desire to reduce maintenance costs by extending greasing intervals
  • Rotating equipment with noisy or worn bearings
  • Grease failure or loss, on equipment operating at high temperature
  • Wear in equipment operating under high loads or in aggressive environments

Application Example - Bibby Coupling

Application Example

Lubrication problems leading to wear on the coupling units of pumps which run 24 hours per day on steelmaking vessels. Due to high temperature, the grease either breaks down and is dissipated through the coupling, or congeals into a hard mass.
As part of a pump replacement exercise a new grid spring was fitted and the unit packed with Belesta XPG. On recent strip down, the maintenance engineers were surprised to find the grease in pristine condition and no signs of wear to the grid spring.

Application Example
As a result the customer has standardised on the use of Belesta XPG in all future applications of this nature.
